Maturity Map

The Maturity Map is the active company's current readiness state across 15 dimensions and three rings. Use it to move from a headline level to the supporting rationale, confidence, and next evidence.

Prerequisite​

The company needs a maturity profile. If none exists, the page shows No maturity profile yet and links to New Session.

An active session can begin populating the company state before it is finished. Completing the session adds the historical snapshot used by Progression.

Map and legend​

The main ring map represents:

  • inner ring — Entry Feasibility;
  • middle ring — Enabling Conditions; and
  • outer ring — Risk Modifiers.

The legend shows:

  • L1 Unaware;
  • L2 Aware;
  • L3 Preparing;
  • L4 Validated; and
  • L5 Established.

Select any segment to inspect it. The address updates with ?dim=<dimension-id>, so an authenticated colleague with permission can open the same dimension directly.

Default insights​

Before selecting a segment, the right panel shows:

  • assessed count out of 15;
  • average level across assessed dimensions;
  • average confidence across assessed dimensions;
  • up to three assessments below 70% confidence, ordered from lowest confidence; and
  • unassessed dimensions.

Select an unassessed dimension chip to start a focused session for it.

An average excludes unassessed dimensions. A small assessed sample can therefore produce a misleadingly high or low headline average; inspect coverage.

Dimension details​

Selecting a segment shows:

  • dimension name and description;
  • assessed state;
  • level and level name;
  • confidence percentage;
  • Why this level rationale, when present;
  • evidence progress toward the next level, unless already at L5 or unavailable;
  • last update date and time; and
  • Work on this in a session.

The focused-session link opens New Session with that dimension preselected. You can still change or clear the focus before starting.

Confidence​

Confidence indicates how strongly the current evidence supports Navaid's interpretation. It is not the probability of market-entry success.

A low-confidence L4 should be revalidated; a high-confidence L2 can be an important, well-understood gap.

Evidence progress​

The progress bar reflects accumulated signals toward the next level. It is not a task-completion percentage and does not promise an automatic transition at a particular visible value.

Rationale​

The rationale is a compact AI interpretation. Return to relevant sessions and documents when exact evidence matters.

Per-ring breakdown​

Below the map, three cards list every dimension in its ring. Each row includes:

  • L1–L5, or an em dash when unassessed;
  • dimension name;
  • confidence, or Not assessed; and
  • an amber dot when evidence is building toward a level change.

Select a row to open or close its detail in the panel above. Each ring header also reports assessed coverage and average level where available.

Start a focused session​

  1. Select the dimension.
  2. Review the current rationale and confidence.
  3. Select Work on this in a session.
  4. Confirm the focus on New Session.
  5. Decide whether prior company knowledge is appropriate.
  6. Contribute current, concrete evidence.

A focused session gives the advisor a priority; it does not prohibit relevant questions about dependencies in other rings.

Shared-state implications​

  • The map belongs to the company, not an individual user.
  • Contributions from authorised sessions can update it.
  • Switching company changes the map.
  • A completed session summary retains its own ending snapshot, which can differ from the current map after later work.
  • Deleting a task does not directly recalculate a maturity level.

Troubleshooting​

A dimension is shown as L1 but not assessed​

The model uses L1 as its structural starting level. Check the assessed label before interpreting it as an evidence-backed weakness.

The map differs from an old summary​

The map is current; the summary is a historical ending snapshot for one session.

A completed task did not advance the map​

Task status and maturity evidence are separate. Use a later session to present and verify the completed work.

A dimension changed while I was viewing​

Another conversation may have updated the shared company state. Refresh to load the latest profile.
