Group Sessions

A group session lets several members of the same company participate in one live advisor conversation. It shares the company's maturity map and records each human contribution with its author.

Availability

Group sessions require the Group sessions feature flag. System Admins can access them for verification even when the general flag is off.

When available, New group session appears on the Sessions page.

Create a group session

  1. Open Sessions.
  2. Select New group session.
  3. Optionally enter a session name.
  4. Optionally choose a focus dimension or keep the suggested focus.
  5. Choose whether to use existing company knowledge. For an established profile, it is selected by default.
  6. Read and select the required consent.
  7. Select Start session.

You are the session Owner. Add teammates after the session opens.

Add participants

From the Participants panel:

  1. Select Add people.
  2. Search active members of the company.
  3. Select Add beside each person.
  4. Select Done.

Existing participants are marked In session or Added. Navaid can send a best-effort notification, but participants should also check the Sessions page.

The owner controls invitations. A participant must be a member of the same company.

Join an invitation

An added member sees the group session in Sessions, and the Sessions navigation may show a numeric badge.

  1. Open the group-session card.
  2. Review Join this group session.
  3. Select Join session.

Opening the session clears its “new group session” indicator for that user.

Presence and roster

The header shows how many people are present and who is typing. The Participants panel shows:

  • owner;
  • your own identity;
  • everyone added to the session; and
  • a live/offline presence dot.

Presence is transient. A participant can remain on the roster while not currently connected.

Ask the assistant or leave a team note

The composer has two modes:

Ask the assistant

Everyone sees the message, and the assistant responds. The turn can update maturity and tasks.

Note to team

Everyone sees the attributed note, but the assistant does not reply to it. The assistant can still receive the note as context for later turns.

Always check the selected mode before sending.

As in individual sessions:

  • Enter sends;
  • Shift+Enter creates a line;
  • documents can be attached; and
  • the map updates in real time.

Read the shared map

The right pane contains:

  • the Layered Readiness Map;
  • dimension detail;
  • thought process from recent advisor messages;
  • participant roster; and
  • ring explanation.

It can be resized on desktop, and selected dimension details update as other people contribute.

Connection notices

Realtime collaboration tries to reconnect silently. If the connection is lost, Navaid warns that you may be missing new messages and offers:

  • Reconnect; and
  • Refresh.

Avoid sending a duplicate message until you know whether the original arrived.

Leave, exit, or finish

  • Exit session returns any participant to Sessions without ending the group session.
  • A non-owner can select Leave session in the roster to remove their participation, then exit.
  • Only the owner sees Finish & Get Summary, after at least six visible messages.
  • Finishing requires confirmation, ends the conversation for everyone, generates the summary, and cannot reopen the group session.

Read Finishing and Leaving Sessions.

Data and conduct

Every participant's contribution becomes part of a company session. Before sharing:

  • confirm all intended participants;
  • avoid unrelated personal or confidential data;
  • identify who is speaking for which function;
  • distinguish fact, opinion, and future plan; and
  • resolve contradictory answers explicitly.

The shared maturity state can update based on any participant's evidence.

Troubleshooting

New group session is missing

Ask a System Admin to verify the Group sessions flag.

I was added but cannot join

Confirm the active company and active membership. Refresh Sessions and open the Group card.

The advisor did not answer

Check whether the message was sent as Note to team. Switch to Ask the assistant for a response.

A teammate is not in the Add people list

They may already be a participant, have no active company membership, or belong to a different company.
