Finishing and Leaving Sessions
Finish, Exit, Leave, and Delete have different effects. Choose the action that matches whether you need a summary and whether other people are participating.
Individual session actions
Finish & Get Summary
Available to the owner after six visible messages.
It:
- generates the final summary;
- finalises the session as completed;
- stores an ending maturity snapshot;
- reconciles applicable tasks; and
- opens Session Summary.
After completion, the conversation is read-only. There is no current Resume action on the summary page.
Exit session
It returns to Dashboard without generating a summary.
- With no visible messages, Navaid asks whether to delete the empty session.
- With messages, Navaid keeps the active session for later.
Delete an empty session
Confirming the empty-session prompt permanently removes it. Cancelling keeps you on the conversation.
Group-session actions
Finish & Get Summary
Only the owner can finish, and the button appears after six visible messages.
The confirmation explicitly says:
- the conversation ends for everyone;
- Navaid generates the summary; and
- the session cannot be reopened.
Exit session
Any participant can return to Sessions without ending or leaving the collaboration.
Leave session
A non-owner can use Leave session in the Participants panel. This removes their participation and exits. The owner does not receive this control.
Choose by outcome
| Desired outcome | Action |
|---|---|
| Pause an individual session and continue later | Exit session |
| Produce an individual summary | Finish & Get Summary |
| Remove a brand-new empty individual session | Exit session, then confirm deletion |
| Step away from a group session but remain a participant | Exit session |
| Stop participating in a group session | Leave session |
| End a group session for everyone | Owner uses Finish & Get Summary |
What is saved
- Turns are persisted as the session progresses.
- Exit does not create a completed-session summary.
- Finish creates final summary data and a completed timestamp.
- A failed Finish should leave the session available rather than being treated as successfully completed.
- Partial voice transcription may be incomplete if audio disconnects before a turn persists.
Before finishing
Check:
- important corrections are in the transcript;
- the advisor has enough context for the intended focus;
- attachments have finished sending;
- no one in a group is still drafting an essential contribution; and
- the monthly budget has enough capacity for summary generation.
The six-message threshold only controls button visibility. It is not a completeness assessment.
If summary generation fails
- Keep the page open.
- Check the error and network connection.
- Confirm the session is still active in Sessions.
- Retry Finish once.
- If the budget is exhausted, ask the appropriate administrator to review monthly limits.
Do not create a duplicate session solely because summary generation is temporarily slow.
Delete later from Sessions
The Sessions page has a trash action with a permanent-deletion confirmation. Deleting a session is separate from:
- leaving it active;
- completing it;
- deleting a document-history entry;
- deleting your account; or
- deleting the company.
Deleting a session does not promise automatic reversal of every company fact, task, or maturity conclusion previously derived from it.
