Companies and Switching

Navaid can associate one account with more than one company. The company shown at the top of the sidebar is the active company: it controls the data displayed and the destination for new work.

Company-scoped data

Switching changes the context for:

  • Dashboard;
  • Sessions and group sessions;
  • Maturity Map;
  • Tasks;
  • Progression;
  • Competitor Analysis;
  • company facts, learnings, and documents;
  • membership and invitations;
  • usage and budgets; and
  • company administration.

Your personal Settings and System Admin status remain tied to your account.

Check before you act

Before starting a session, uploading a document, inviting a user, deleting content, or exporting a company report, confirm the active company name and logo in the sidebar.

Switch company

The company header is interactive when you have multiple active memberships or permission to create a new company.

  1. Select the company name at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Review the companies and your role in each.
  3. Select the destination company.
  4. Navaid returns to its Dashboard and reloads company data.

The current company has a check mark. Suspended or removed memberships do not appear as usable company contexts.

Create your initial company

An authenticated account with no company can be directed to Create your company:

  1. Enter a required company name.
  2. Review the generated company URL slug.
  3. Edit the slug if necessary.
  4. Select Create Company.

You become its Admin.

Create another company

The in-app company picker offers Create new company only to:

  • a System Admin; or
  • a user with at least one active Consultant membership.

This modal asks for a company name and creates a fresh, blank company with you as its Admin. After creation, Navaid switches to the new company and reloads.

An ordinary Company Admin cannot create additional companies from this picker solely because they are an Admin.

Avoid duplicate companies

Before creating a company:

  • search your invitations and ask colleagues whether a workspace already exists;
  • accept an existing invitation instead when appropriate; and
  • use a clear legal or trading name so portfolio users can distinguish it.

Merging two companies is not a user-facing workflow. Their sessions, maturity states, tasks, and knowledge remain separate.

Understand roles across companies

Roles are assigned per company. The same person might be:

  • a Consultant in one company;
  • a Manager in another; and
  • a User in a third.

The role shown under the company name changes when you switch. System Admin is an account-wide platform privilege and overrides company navigation restrictions.

Multi-company Overview

Eligible portfolio users see Overview above Dashboard. Access depends on system-administrator status, company count, role, and the Overview feature flag.

Overview consolidates authorised company memberships but does not merge data. Selecting a company card switches the active company. See Multi-company Overview.

Troubleshooting

The company name is not clickable

You have only one active membership and do not have permission to create another company.

A company disappeared

The membership may no longer be active. Ask an Admin or Consultant for that company to review membership status.

Data looks empty after switching

The destination may be a genuinely new company with no maturity profile. Check the company header, then begin its first session or add company knowledge.

I created the wrong company

Do not add data to it. A System Admin can review company deletion from the Companies tab. Company deletion is permanent and requires exact-name confirmation.
